…Felicitates with Onobun on Election to House of Reps
As the legislative tenure of the 7th Edo State House of Assembly winds down, the State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has commended the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun and honourable members of the house for their vibrancy and purposeful discharge of their parliamentary duties.
The Deputy Governor in his valedictory message, personally signed by him, stated:
“It is my singular honour and privilege to heartily felicitate with Mr. Speaker and Honourable Members of the 7th Assembly, whose legislative tenure elapses on 16th June 2023″.
“As a two-time member and principal officer of the House – Minority Leader and Majority Leader, respectively – let me place on record that the 7th Assembly has been very vibrant and proactive in performing its constitutional duties for the good governance of our dear Edo State”.
Shaibu reflected on the inauguration of the 7th Assembly in 2019 while highlighting its activities and cooperation with the Executive Arm of Government.
He also congratulated the Speaker for his leadership qualities and well-deserved victory at the polls into the House of Representatives.
“Upon your inauguration four years ago, based on the popular mandate of your constituents, you hit the ground running, enacting people-oriented bills and providing effective oversight functions – in robust cooperation with the Executive Arm of Government”.
“Permit me to congratulate Mr. Speaker, in a very special way, for his well-deserved victory at the polls and election into the Green Chambers of the National Assembly (House of Representatives), Abuja”.
“Indeed, you have provided purposeful leadership and stability in running the affairs of the 7th Assembly, since you became the number one lawmaker in Edo State”.
The Deputy Governor expressed his best wishes to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun and Honourable Members of the 7th Assembly, in their future engagements.
“I wish you and through you to other members of the 7th Assembly, success in your future endeavours as you round off your legislative tenure on a glorious note”.
