Ajax are however yet to respond to the offer from the Cottagers for the versatile 23-year-old, but it appears they have a strong rival in Brighton and Hove Albion who are also interested in the defender
Bassey, who has four years left on his contract, signed for Ajax last summer after two years at Rangers where he made 65 appearances in total, and won the league title in 2021 and the Scottish Cup the following year.
Fulham, who finished 10th last season in the English Premier League, are hoping to improve this season and have already signed former Chelsea and Arsenal winger Willian to a new one-year contract after his deal expired in the summer.
