Nigerian Forward Out Due to Injury Until November

Nigerian striker Josh Maja will not play for West Bromwich Albion in their next 10 games due to an ankle ligament injury.

Maja, 24, suffered the injury during the second-half stoppage time in their goalless draw against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

West Brom’s coach, Carlos Corberan, now has only Brandon Thomas-Asante available as a fit centre-forward, with Daryl Dike also sidelined due to injury.

The club has confirmed that Maja will undergo rehabilitation after a period of rest, with the expectation that he will return to first-team action following the November international break. This means he will miss 10 games.

During this run of fixtures, West Brom will host Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Plymouth, QPR, and Hull at The Hawthorns, while also traveling to face Watford, Preston, Birmingham, Coventry, and Southampton.

Maja has made five appearances as a substitute this season but has yet to score a goal. He joined West Brom during the summer transfer window on a free transfer after his contract with French club Bordeaux expired.
