The NPFL season is set to begin on Saturday, September 30 2023, with Gombe United traveling to the Centre of Excellence as the Savannah Scorpions face newly promoted Sporting Lagos.
The medical examinations occurred this week at a specialized hospital in Gombe, with the club’s medical staff and team doctors overseeing the process, including the newly signed players.
Gombe United’s General Manager, Abubakar Abubakar Yellow, commended the proactive approach of the medical team. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the players’ health as the new football season kicks off this weekend, considering it a top priority for the club. Yellow also noted that these scans and tests are mandatory under the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Club Licensing requirements that the team must meet.
Having recently been reappointed by Gombe State Governor Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Yellow assured fans of the team’s readiness for a successful season.
