The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) today communicated a new resumption date for the 2023/24 Premiership season as it held the draw for the forthcoming 2023/2024 season during its Annual General Assembly, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
Under the leadership of Mrs. Nkechi Obi, the NWFL confirmed a significant expansion in the league. Instead of the previous 14 teams, a total of 16 teams will now participate in the upcoming season as the league kicks off on November 15.
Group A will see Nasarawa Amazons, Naija Ratels and Adamawa Queens slug it out amongst five other teams while Group B has women football powerhouses, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Edo Queens, Delta Queens, Robo Queens and even newly found Remo Ladies.
The draw resulted in the formation of two competitive groups:
Group A:
1. Nasarawa Amazons
2. Heartland Queens
3. Confluence Queens
4. Adamawa Queens
5. Dannaz Ladies
6. Naija Ratels
7. Royal Queens
8. Abia Angels
Group B:
1. Remo Stars
2. Rivers Angels
3. Sunshine Queens
4. Robo Queens
5. Edo Queens
6. Bayelsa Queens
7. Ekiti Queens
8. Delta Queens
