NFF ELECTION: Beyond Campaign, Chris Emeruwa Stands Head And Shoulders Above The Rest

With all tones set up for the Nigeria Football Federation election, the media space is already littered with a series of camouflaged campaigns and pushes to get into the highest seat of the Glass House by individuals who haven’t in any way shown the difference in their years of serving in the glass house than dragging the football backwards by 50 years to what’s in vogue.

One of the very few credible aspirants for the seat with a clear vision and plans to make Nigeria the real superpower in football and dominate Africa as well as rub shoulders with European countries, Dr Chris Emeruwa has reeled out yet another punchline standing him head above shoulders to others.

Beyond the field of play that the administrators over time have brought to the table as achievement, there are areas yet to be explored that if done, will take the country to another position in the world.

Just a few hours ago, Dr. Christian Emeruwa, presidential candidate for the 2022 NFF Elections succinctly echoed that he will be NFF President and will be sworn in on October 3, 2022.

Here are out of the many points he highlighted to drive home his campaign ahead of the forthcoming election.

Dr Chris termed this move as a struggle because he feels it is a task that we have to approach with all sense of responsibility and focus. He is not running to become President just for the name, he is poised to transform Nigerian football.

According to the astute administrator, many do not believe that this is possible but he would clear all doubts and also announce that come 3rd October 2022 he shall resume as the 44th President of the NFF in the Sunday DANKARO House by the grace of God.

As against many beliefs and ways of doing things, Chris Emeruwa is planning to approach his campaign in the most decent way possible and tell his story because he has a story to tell. Obviously, Chris Emeruwa is not seen to be the favourite candidate, but he can already confirm a few things that he has contributed to Nigeria’s football which all are seeing currently.

Aside from what he has contributed, his electioneering campaign steps have shown that he is prepared for what is to come in his office days. Few of his campaign steps so far as follows.

1: This is the first time that we see anyone doing a formal declaration for the position of the NFF President before the election, Dr Emeruwa started when he declared in April.

2: This is the first time that we see anyone doing a banner for the post of the NFF President. Dr Chris started it and today people are forced to go to the studio to take professional pictures to do posters.

3: This is the first time that a presidential candidate will speak well ahead about his programmes months before the election media, again, he started it and now it is on for all.

4: This is the first time that any candidate for the NFF President will circulate his strategic plan for four years as well as his vision and add his Profile and share it with the world to see, again, the University of Ibadan graduate started it and we are still waiting to read of others plans

This election is a rebirth for both our football electoral process and shall be for football administration in Nigeria. If you recall, the CAF Head of Security in competitions has started open engagement since April the first to so do with all stakeholders is to show that he has nothing to hide rather he has a lot to offer Nigeria football.

With full assurance coming from the CAF Head of Safety and Security, individual and collective efforts shall not go in vain nor will they be dashed. The next few weeks will show to the Nigerian people and football stakeholders that the time is now for a turnaround in our football – the delegates now should wake up to make the country great again by getting it right once and for all.
