‘Lobi Stars expected me to coach without a contract’ – Former Lobi Coach

Abubakar Bala, the former coach of Lobi Stars, has shed light on the circumstances surrounding his departure from the club without coaching a competitive game during his tenure in Benue, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Bala’s resignation reportedly stemmed from a disagreement with the vice-chairman of the club, Dominic Iorfa. The young tactician had taken charge of Lobi Stars in July after the contract of the previous team handler, Mohammed Babaganaru, was not renewed.

Abubakar Bala, who had previously coached Niger Tornadoes in the Nigeria Premier Football League last season, explained that his decision to part ways with the club was a result of Dominic Iorfa’s refusal to provide him with a proper contract. He emphasized that he was not willing to coach any team without a clearly defined contractual agreement.

In response to the situation, Ladan Bosso, the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), offered advice to coaches, recommending that they have legal representation for contract negotiations and keep a copy of their contracts. This proactive approach, he suggested, would help safeguard the interests of coaches in similar situations.
