With 16 days until the 2023 African Cup of Nations, the Elephants of Coted’Ivoire have released their final 27-man squad for the biennial competition while ignoring Galatasaray winger, Wilfried Zaha, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The Ivory Coast’s French manager, Jean-Louis Gasset, ignored the former Crystal Palace winger amidst rumours that Zaha chooses when and when not to represent the national team. Also missing from the list is former Manchester United and Besiktas defender Eric Bailly.
The manager called up Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller, Monaco defender Wilfried Singo, and midfielders Ibrahim Sangare of Premier League side Nottingham Forest, Seko Fofana (Al Nassr), and Franck Kesslie (Al Ahli).
The 2015 Champions is placed in group A alongside Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Guinea Bissau and Equatorial Guinea will host the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau on the 13th of January, 2024 in the opening game.
