Ambassador Justina Orie gives back to society, tags it the best gesture to humankind

“Giving back means different things to different people. To some, it is giving time, resources, and donations to their communities, families, and friend groups. To others, it is a sense of appreciation for everything others did for them and a desire to do the same for someone else as much as everyone did for them.

The fulfilling feeling of giving back and contributing to society is unparalleled. Giving back is also a great way to get to know your community and its citizens’’ explained Ambassador Justina Chinyere Orie, the founder and CEO of the Ethan Empowerment Foundation, a grassroots community nongovernmental organization on the importance of giving back and contributing to society.

‘’It will enrich your life, familiarize you with your community, and connect you to people and ideas that will positively impact your perspective for the rest of your life. Helping your community members in your little way is an opportunity for you to grow as a person and to better understand how you fit into the world around you.

As some may not know, it is in giving that we receive. Charity work is very important to me and allows me to give back to my community. Over time, I have always been a big supporter of many different charities, and have donated thousands of naira to them, and it just feels great to do and be able to help others, especially children until I founded the Ethan Empowerment Foundation’’ she stated.

Ethan Empowerment Foundation was founded in Lagos Nigeria basically to contribute to the betterment of the society at large. It was officially inaugurated on Saturday 8th October 2022 at the Magnificient International Event Center, Ikorodu Road, Somolu, Lagos and the organization has given scholarships to some children who are orphans at the Royal Children School, Papa Ajao Mushin, Lagos to stretch the hands of fellowship to the less privilege in our societies.

Since skill acquisition can be defined as the art of learning to do something to earn a living and or to survive and the skills can be acquired from several sources depending on the skills and the environment then we can say that the foundation has sincerely contributed to the society growth and empowerment having trained some youths who are independent now on tailoring, barbing, computer literacy, vulcanizer, tie and die, photography and so on.

‘’During our October 2022 month-end outreach, we extended hands of fellowship and gave out raw food materials to the less privileged who are mostly the elderly people. This was well appreciated as that would enable us to do more in this regard’’.

Ambassador Orie confided in our correspondent that the foundation has a lot on the pipeline all to better the society such as taking care of the out-of-school youths by training them on skill acquisition, giving scholarships to orphans who do not have means of going to school and also supporting widows who want to go into small scale business. ‘’Giving back to the communities and institutions that helped us achieve success is a value we share and a privilege we embrace. It’s not about giving back if you’re successful or a celebrity or how much money you have: it’s about your responsibility as an adult to help others’’ concluded Madam Orie.
