The light at the end of the tunnel of the Edo State Football Association is, at last giving a signal of its existence as the Electoral Committee chaired by Professor Darlington Obaseki, releases its election timetable.

After many cold wars and maligning of images by people of interest in the election which came on the bounce the removal of the former Chairman, Comrade Roland Abu, occurred due to allegations levelled against him by the board members.

The election into the office of Chairman, Vice Chairman and board members of the Association is scheduled to hold 11 days after the local government football council election

According to the timetable signed by the FA Secretary, Mr. Tony Owens, the collection of nomination forms and electoral guidelines of the local government football council election is scheduled for 27th July to August 4th. The return of form will span through 7th-11th August, with the screening slated for 14th to 15th August 2023.

The display of eligible candidates would be done on 16th August and the appeal day is scheduled for 17th August.

The election will hold on the 18th of August at a location that will be communicated by the electoral committee.

For the ‘Football Association Board Election’, the sale of nomination forms and electoral guidelines has kick-started since July 27th and will last through the 4th of August, 2023.

Just like the local government football council, submission of forms will be from the 7th of August to the 11th of August with the screening taking place from 21st to 22nd August, 2023.

Cleared candidates will have their names displayed on the 23rd of August and would have their appeal filed and listened to on the 24th to 25th of August if there would be any.

The main election will take place on the 29th of August at a venue to be decided by the electoral committee.
