Bendel Insurance gets tough draw in CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round




Tension is building as Federation Cup champions, Bendel Insurance has been drawn to face Algerian outfit ASO Chlef in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.


The much-awaited tie is set to take place in two legs, with the first leg hosted by Bendel Insurance in Nigeria, and the second leg to be held in Algeria.


Bendel Insurance, known for their rich footballing history will be eager to make their mark on the continental stage with Monday Odigie on the touchline. They have been preparing diligently for the Confederation Cup and are determined to progress further. The Nigerian side’s impressive Federation Cup performance has earned them a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup, and they now aim to prove their worth on an international level.


On the other hand, ASO Chlef, a formidable club hailing from Algeria, with a rigid defence will be no easy opponent for the Benin Arsenals.


The winner of this preliminary round will face two time Confederation cup winners RS Berkane, a prominent Moroccan club, in the second round. RS Berkane has a strong track record in continental competitions, making this potential matchup all the more exciting.


The first legs for the first preliminary round will take place between 18 and 20 August, while the second legs will happen a week later between 25 and 27 August.


The second preliminary round is played between 15 and 17 September and 30 Sep to 1 October. All winners of the second preliminary round will qualify for the CAFCL group stages
