Gombe United manager Aliyu Zubairu has expressed happiness in his team after holding out Bendel Insurance to a goalless draw at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday evening.
Efforts by both sides to score a goal were unsuccessful despite several tactical tweaks from Gombe’s coach, Zubairu and Insurance’s coach, Monday Odigie.
He went on to add the draw was a strong motivation for his players ahead of their next fixtures.
“It’s a very vital one and we are happy about it and I believe it’s going to motivate my boys because taking a point from a team that has not dropped a single point since the league started is. It’s a solid point for the team.” Zubairu said in his post-match conference.
Zubairu was also full of praise for the Benin Arsenal, tagging them, and praising the team’s performance this season.
“I’m not sure there is no opposition we are going to play that is stronger than Insurance” Zubairu confessed.
