NPFL 2023: Imade’s Late Strike Steals Win For Benin Arsenal’s

Newly promoted side Bendel Insurance secured a 1-0 win over Plateau United at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Matchday 2 of the Nigerian Professional Football League.

Insurance who clinched a win in their first match of the campaign were met by a competitive side as the first half ended with either side not finding the back of the net to break the deadlock.

As the second 45 minutes kicked off, Samuel Isarki put the home team ahead after rising above the Plateau united defenders and finding the back of the net from a header in the 53rd minute to set the pace of the game.

With the game tight and full of action, Plateau United drew level after Mustapha Abdullahi converted from the spot in the last minutes but their hopes of stealing a point were dashed after Imade Osehenkhoe put Arsenal’s back in front to clinch the winner minutes later.

Bendel Insurance will continue its campaign as they visit Kwara United in Ibadan on the 22nd of January.
