BFN holds Badminton Training Program for Secondary Schools in Edo

The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) in collaboration with the Edo State Badminton Association on Tuesday in Benin City kicked off a two day intensive Badminton Training Program tagged “Shuttle Time Nigeria” for Students and Game masters in Edo State, platinumnewng.com is reporting.

The training program which takes place at the Etete Layout Sports complex, saw participants from several schools in Benin City on the day one of the training program.

Game masters and Students were taken through the basics and rudiments of the game, with the hope that the representatives will in turn cascade the knowledge to the entire students in their schools.

Present to kickoff the program is the Shuttle Time Nigeria co-odinator/National head coach, Mr Tajudeen Sulieman; Mrs Amaka Onwuka (Edo state badminton board vice chairman); Mr Abiola O. (Edo state badminton board member); Coach Olalekan Fajimiyo (Tutor of shuttle time and Head coach badminton Edo state) and Coach Osayomwanbo Blessing Ehiorobo. (Assistant coach badminton, Edo state & tutor shuttle time)

Speaking to the participants during the opening ceremony, Coach Olalekan Fajimiyo appreciated all the participating schools for their time, assuring them that the program will help equip them with everything they need technically to help advance the game to the grassroot.

He also assured that basic equipment which have been made available by the federation will be distributed to all the representatives so they can continue to make use of the knowledge acquired.

Some of the participating schools includes Benin Technical College, Western Boys High School, Uwelu Secondary School, Iyoba girls college, Eghosa Anglican grammar school, Uselu Secondary School, Usugbenu Technical College, Irrua, Afuze Technical College, etc.
