After three postponements, the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) is ready to make its return, with the action set to commence this Saturday, September 30th.
The first match of the season will see Shooting Stars host Plateau United at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Adamasingba, Ibadan.
This was revealed by Davidson Owumi, the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier League, in a circular distributed to all 20 NPFL clubs on Monday afternoon.
The circular also contained vital information regarding the financial support provided to the clubs to facilitate their operations during the upcoming season.
Titled ‘TAKE OFF GRANT ₦200 MILLION,’ the circular disclosed that each of the 20 NPFL clubs will receive a substantial grant of ₦10 million to ensure the smooth running of their operations as the new season kicks off.
This financial injection aims to support clubs in their preparations and endeavors throughout the competition.
Also, the league organizers have requested that the clubs promptly provide their account details to the NPFL Secretariat, ensuring the seamless transfer of the aforementioned amount. This financial support is reminiscent of the previous season when clubs also received take-off grants to bolster their operations.
