CAFCC: Bendel Insurance FC Lands in Casablanca with Confidence for RS Berkane

Bendel Insurance Football Club of Benin has touched down in Casablanca, Morocco, ahead of their crucial second leg battle against Renaissance de Sportive Berkane in the 2023/24 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.

The encounter is scheduled for Friday, September 29, in Berkane by 9pm Nigerian time.

Insurance FC’s journey to Casablanca began at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, Nigeria, at approximately 8:18 AM. They landed safely at the Mohammed V. International Airport in Casablanca at around 1:18 PM.

Welcoming the Nigerian representatives was Emmanuel Ovye Oliver, the protocol assistant, along with other Nigerian Embassy officials in Morocco.

In their previous encounter, Bendel Insurance FC managed a 2-2 draw against RS Berkane at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Saturday, September 16.

Coach Monday Odigie’s Benin Arsenals are brimming with confidence as they approach the return leg clash. They are determined to defend their honor and pride in Morocco.

Insurance FC’s stand-in captain, Amas, expressed their commitment, stating, “We are aware of the honour that awaits us if we secure qualification for the group stage. We will give our all on the field to return home with smiles. We made errors in Benin and aim to avoid repeating them. While our opponents have been champions twice in three years, we won’t be intimidated; they should expect a fierce battle from us, just as they faced in Benin.”

Amas further highlighted their motivation, saying, “Above all, we aim to win for our state Governor, who has been incredibly supportive through sponsorship and motivation, propelling us this far in both domestic and continental competitions.”
