As the 2025 NWFL regular season ends, paving the way for the Super Six playoffs to take stage, Dannaz Ladies’ shotstopper, Happy Smart Owobu, has taken time to assess her performance for the season as she anticipates a better campaign next year.

In an exclusive interview with Platinum News writer, Sharon Ekhiwere, Happy concedes to the fact that she wasn’t too pleased with her personal performance in the 2025 campaign, also taking time to pick her team’s special moments during the course of the season.

“As a Dannaz player, I’m not really happy with my team’s performance this season in the league, although we had some impressive games, including the 1-1 draw at home against Edo Queens. However, overall, I believe next season we will do better. I believe that because in my team, the majority of us are young players, we have the zeal to work hard, I am confident we can continue to challenge to do better and maybe very soon challenge for the title.

About her experience and performance for the season, she has a couple of things to share.

“Honestly, I’ve had mixed feelings about my performance as a goalkeeper this season. There have been moments where I’ve made saves, but there have also been instances where I’ve conceded goals that I feel I could’ve prevented. Looking at the stats, I’ve noticed that my save percentage is around the middle of the pack compared to other goalkeepers in the league. While it’s not bad, I know I can do better. I’ve been working on my technique and decision-making during training, and I’m hoping to see improvements next season.”

The Edo-born Goalkeeper also committed her future to Dannaz Ladies FC, assuring she’ll still be in the club come next season:

“My plan going forward is to continue giving my best to Dannaz Ladies FC. I’m committed to helping the team achieve our goals and make a strong start to next season. As for joining another team, I don’t have any plans to leave Dannaz Ladies FC, I am happy with the team.
