Eguma Confident In Enyimba To Secure Quarter-Final Spot

With Enyimba’s only fate to earn a place in the quarter-final of the CAF Confederation Cup down to the wire, Stanley Eguma believes that his side will give their all to make it beyond the group stage.

The People’s Elephant, as famously known, were held to a 1-1 draw in their matchday five encounter against Al Masry of Egypt at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday. This result, therefore, put their hopes of securing a ticket in the knockout phase in jeopardy.

The two-time African champions, currently sit third in Group D with five points, will be on the next flight to take on Egyptian powerhouses and table-toppers Zamalek in their last group game on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

“It’s not the end of the road. We still have the next game to play. If Al Masry can come here and play the game of their lives, then we can go to Egypt, and who knows what the outcome of the other games will be. We are still optimistic, it is not over until it is over,” Eguma stated.
