FEDERATION CUP 2024: NFF Extends Registration for clubs



The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has granted a two-week extension for teams to register for the country’s oldest tournament, the Federation Cup 2024, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

In a circular dated November 30, 2023, addressed to all Football Association Secretaries by Ruth David, Acting Director of Competitions, the extension was communicated with late registration attracting a penalty.

Clubs who wishes to participate in the men’s competition will be required to pay a registration fee of N150,000, while those vying for the women’s title will pay N100,000 each. Late registrations will incur higher fees of N200,000 and N120,000 for men’s and women’s teams respectively.

Bendel Insurance clinched the 2023 Federation Cup at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on June 21. Imade Osarenkhoe 41st minute spot kick was enough as the Benin Arsenal defeated Enugu Rangers International.

This annual competition adopts a single-elimination knockout format, featuring a total of 74 teams representing the 36 states, along with one team from the FCT. All participating clubs will need to qualify from their respective states to compete in the tournament.
