Nigeria’s D’Tigress has climbed seven places in the latest International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Women’s Rankings, released in September.
This rise is a result of their outstanding performance at the 2023 AfroBasket Championship, where Rena Wakama’s team secured their fourth consecutive title.
In the rankings, D’Tigress has advanced from 18th to 11th place with a total of 528.9 points. Mali and Senegal are the other African teams within the top 20.
The women’s team clinched their fourth straight title at the 2023 Women’s Afrobasketball Championship in Rwanda. This impressive achievement has now earned them the opportunity to represent Africa at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
