Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set to take on European Champions England in the Round of 16 of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Monday, August 7, at Brisbane’s Lang Park Stadium in Australia.
The Super Falcons secured their spot in the knockout stage as runners-up in Group B, with one win against Australia and two draws against Ireland and Canada, totalling five points.
Meanwhile, the Three Lionesses of England finished atop Group D after a dominant 6-1 victory over China on August 1.
The match in Brisbane will be crucial for Nigeria, who have remained unbeaten during the group stage. If they manage to progress past England, it will equal their best performance in the tournament, achieved in 1999 when they reached the quarter-finals.
