Newly appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, Findi George has announced the selection of five assistant coaches to bolster the team’s coaching staff as they prepare for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The announcement came shortly after his formal unveiling at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. George previously served as an assistant to Jose Peseiro, the immediate past coach of the Super Eagles.
The coaching lineup includes three foreign-based assistants who will work alongside the former Nigerian international Daniel Amokachi. Olatunji Baruwa has been appointed as the goalkeeper trainer, bringing a well-rounded coaching staff to support the Super Eagles’ bid for success.
Benjamin James will serve as second assistant coach, Chima Onyeike as the fitness trainer, and Mehmet Ozturk as the match analyst.
Finidi, a former Ajax Amsterdam player, had previously managed the team on a caretaker basis, leading them in friendly matches against the Black Stars of Ghana and the Eagles of Mali in March.
The first official challenge for Finidi and his new coaching team will be a critical match against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
This 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo this June. The Super Eagles will also face the Squirrels of Benin shortly afterward, marking a busy start for the new coaching regime.
