Green Buffaloes and Mamelodi Sundowns book CAF Women’s Champions League spots

Defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC and the Green Buffaloes of Zambia are the first teams to book spots at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League finals, which will be held in Morocco in 2022.

The second TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League is expected to run through October and November 2022

The Southern Zone final saw a fierce struggle between the two sides, with the Zambian team emerging victorious 6-5 on penalties following a scoreless draw.

As of right now, the Green Buffaloes will compete in their inaugural TotalEnergies Women’s Champions League finals. As a result of Zambia’s national team’s outstanding showing in the TotalEnergies Women’s Nations Cup, they will be riding a big wave in the clubs’ competition.

The Zone that produces the current African champions is represented by two clubs in accordance with the contest’s rules.

The champions, who prevailed against Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies FC to win the first competition held in Egypt last year, are poised for a return to the continent and rule it once more.

Future Zonal Competitions: With COSAFA completed, attention is now focused on UNAF and CECAFA, which are currently holding the qualifying rounds of the competition in Morocco and Tanzania, respectively.
