The attention of Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has been drawn to the malicious talks making the rounds to the effect that he owns the two Conoil Service Centers on Airport Road, Benin City.
In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary of the Edo State Deputy Governor, Comrade Ebomhiana Musa, the Deputy Governor is not in any way connected to the false statement by destructive individuals.
“Without mincing words, we wish to state that this is nothing but cheap political blackmail, calculated at smearing the image and reputation of the state’s number two citizen.”
“Neither the Deputy Governor nor any member of his immediate family owns these said Conoil Service Stations.”
“We urge the doubting Thomases to verify the authenticity or otherwise of this claim at the office of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, here
in Benin or any part of the country.”
“All Edolites and indeed, well-meaning members of the public are hereby enjoined to disregard the malicious and wicked blackmail being peddled by these idle minds.”
Consequently, discerning members of the public are advised to be guided accordingly.
