Julius Aghahowa Super Cup: Clubs profile and players to watch out for.

The maiden edition of the Julius Aghahova Super 4 Football Tournament kicks off Friday, October 27, 2022, with two mouthwatering and exciting fixtures to keep Benin City agog.

The tournament will see the best three teams of the Benin City Youth League and the host club slug it out in a 3-day tournament scheduled for October 27-29, 2022 in Benin City for a golden chance to be crowned champions in a knockout tie.

Winners of the first round will advance to the final while losers battle for third-place glory.

Club Profiles
BJ Foundation
BJ Foundation, the side led by Coach Douglas Idahosa is one of the most formidable teams in Benin City and will surely compete to win the maiden edition of the competition. The champions of the just concluded Benin City Youth League known as the Dragons will gun for glory in this one to make it a season of brace They are known as.

Players To Watch: Adebayo Samson – Samson’s exploit at the just concluded Benin City Youth League earned him the best goalkeeper keeping clean sheets more than other goalkeepers and displaying great skills between the sticks made many wonders if there was such a good goalkeeper in the league. His exploit is anticipated as the Aghahowa Super Cup Kicks off today in Benin City.

Eribo Osas: One of the nightmares for forwards in the league showed character and has been likened to Marcelo for his attacking style of play and Ashley Cole for his defensive prowess. Eribo Osas though might be a defender, but his presence in the competition is one of what many would want to experience as he’s been touted as the next big thing when it comes left back in the country.

Their ability to have produced top players in the country and have some others exported is what other clubs would be scared of. No doubt, Eagle Wings has got arrays of young stars who can inflict pain on their opponents at any time as they are sure of soaring without hitting poles. From their home ground – the Eagle Wings Complex much is expected.

Players To Watch:
Tega is a standout teenager whose presence on the field of play is always an addition and threat to opponents while Harry’s presence in the forward line is always a thing of stress that has left many coaches going to bed with headaches with thoughts on how to have him marked out in their outings.

Rolly FC
Nigeria National League One Side and Rolly FC are also in for this prestigious tournament. Runners-up at the Edo State Bet9ja Super Football League and the Benin City Youth League, the Lions as they are fondly called will aim for nothing but glory.

The team, based at the S&T Barracks, Isihor, Benin, was founded in 2015. The 2021 Benin City Youth League champions are currently tinkered by Nigeria’s ex-international, Ogonachu Chukwudi and much is expected from them to excel at the tournament.

Players To Watch: The trio of Lasisi Hassan (midfield dynamo), Osazee Osahi and Raymond Ekenoba (Benin City Youth League highest goals scorer) can be likened to the three wise men with goals, skills and pace in their pouch. Teams will have to contend with their strengths and experiences at the Nationwide League will serve as an edge for them over their opponents and if well exploited, that should lead them to glory.

Rockers FC
With Coach Chinedu Mba on the touchline, the Rockers will be forced to reckon with. The Ogida Police Barracks side’s existence dates back to 2003 when they have come to register in the minds of people good football and a factory where stars have been manufactured.
