Junior Yellow-Greens Captain, Ridwan optimistic about ICC World Cup Ticket

As the Countdown for the under-19 ICC World Cup qualifiers hosted by Tanzania gradually draws closer, the Captain of the Nigerian Under -19 Cricket team (the junior yellow-greens), Ridwan Abdulkareem has expressed his confidence and optimism that Nigeria can grab the single ticket for the 2024 ICC World Cup to be hosted in Sri Lanka.

The Ibeju Lekki 1 Cricket Club player today during a session for all six nations Captains to share a last friendly pose with the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup Africa Division 1 Qualifier Trophy, stated this in an interview with newsmen.

According to Ridwan, he said, “he is optimistic that the trophy and qualification slot will return with the team to Nigeria and he believes his side is mentally, physically and professionally ready to do battle”.

Nigeria will open proceedings against West Africa Rivals Sierra Leone on Monday 24th July at 7:30 am Nigeria time and will then battle Namibia, Uganda, Kenya and host Tanzania in the next 8 days.

Drawing from the 2019 exploits in Windhoek Namibia when Nigeria qualified for her maiden U-19 World Cup, the Federation has put all measures in place to ensure that the lads are focused on delivering on the assignment.
