The NFF set a cutoff date of July 31st for clubs to comply with redemption and settlement of any outstanding payments or provide an acceptable Financial Guarantee to ensure overdue dues are met. Also, clubs are expected to present a tentative payment plan, demonstrating their commitment to resolving these financial matters.
The dire situation has affected several teams in the NPFL, with notable mention to the defending champions, Enyimba FC, who are among the clubs struggling to clear their salary arrears and unpaid bonuses.
