The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute for Sports, NIS, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has commended officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, for their gallantry in protecting lives and property across the country.
Shaibu made the commendation during a decoration ceremony for two of his escorted personnel, held in his office in Abuja. He said the role of NSCDC personnel in national security remains critical to the peace and stability of Nigeria.
The highlight of the day was the decoration of two officers — Ahmad Abubakar and Lawal Sani Lawal, who were promoted from Corps Assistant I to Senior Corps Assistant (SCA. The NIS DG urged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility.
He charged them to continue to discharge their duties with dedication, integrity and professionalism. Shaibu also lauded the leadership of the NSCDC for motivating its personnel and ensuring career progression for deserving officers. He noted that rewarding hard work will further boost morale within the Corps.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the National Institute for Sports to collaborate with security agencies. Shaibu said a safe environment is essential for the growth of sports and the well-being of Nigerians.
