NPFL24: Insurance should be respected, they are the best in Nigeria – Gombe United Coach

Head coach of Gombe United, Mohammed Babaganaru, has admitted that Bendel Insurance is the best team in the Nigeria Premier Football League despite his side claiming maximum points on matchday four of the 2023/24 season, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Speaking after the Savannah Scorpions slim victory, Mohammed Babaganaru went on to reveal that his team’s target this week was to crack the defense of the Benin Arsenal who were yet to concede a goal, prior to the matchday four clash.

“Insurance is a tough nut to crack. While at Lobi, it was hard to defeat them at the Super Six. We made it our target this week to defeat Insurance. Insurance is the best team in Nigeria. They need to be respected.” Babaganaru said at full time.

At the Pantami stadium, Gombe got the sole goal in the 50th minute as miscommunication from the Bendel Insurance defence within the 18-yard- box opened a path for a Gombe United attacker who wasted no chance in converting.

Gombe United will host Plateau United in matchday five of the NPFL while Insurance returns to Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium with a game against Akwa United.
