NPFL24: League Organisers should look into Heartland’s pitch – Fatai Osho

Akwa United’s Head Coach, Fatai Osho has expressed discontent with the substandard turf at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, following his team’s 1-0 loss to Heartland on MatchDay 14 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

Osho conveyed his concerns about the unsuitability of the playing surface for football in his post-match interview as the former Enyimba manager explained the detrimental impact of the poor pitch conditions, emphasizing that neither team could perform at their best.

“Heartland should do well to leave this ground. It’s not helping their football and not helping everybody coming here. This is not good for Nigerian players. They need to leave this place.”

He went on to urge the league organizers to address the issue promptly, as its adverse effect is too much on football and not even hockey can be played on the pitch.

“The organizers seriously need to look into this issue because it is not even good for hockey. It’s a no-no honestly.” He concluded.
