Head Coach at Sporting Lagos, Paul Offor has responded to Monday Odigie’s complaints of poor officiating in Sporting’s 1-0 victory over Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
The Noisy Lagosians secured back-to-back wins after Tochukwu Michael’s 56th-minute free kick made the difference at a noisy Mobolaji Johnson Arena on matchday 20 of the NPFL.
Bendel Insurance coach, Monday Odigie at full time complained bitterly about the officiating as he opined that is a reason why Nigerian referees were not at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations.

Reacting to the claims of poor officiating made by Monday Odigie, Offor expressed shock as he explained that football is a contact sport and fouls are bound to happen.
“It’s a contact sport, we conceded a lot of fouls from them also. They fouled us a lot too. Sometimes it happens in football,” Offor said in his post-match reaction
Speaking on the referee’s performance, Offor adjudged the referee to have officiated the game as “not bad”.
“A game of this magnitude you don’t expect players to come and not have contact. I don’t think the referees did bad today,” he concluded.
