NSC Lists Sabina, Others as African Youth Games LOC Members

Executive Director of Operations and Sports Development at the Edo State Sports Commission, Mrs Sabina Chikere has been listed alongside 27 others as members of the second edition of the African Youth Games, Platinum News is reporting.

The committee, inaugurated by the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Alhaji Shehu Dillon is saddled with the responsibility to stage a successful second edition of the Games, tagged “Abuja 2027”.

Sabina is expected to bring her wealth of experience to the committee —with previous assignments successfully carried out in Edo state —the National Sports Festival, revival of Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens FC, leading the state’s contingent to different National Sports Festivals and National Youth Games with enviable achievements.

The 28-member committee is mandated to organise the best-ever-staged youth Games on the continent.

The Chairman assured the LOC of the Commission’s total support to deliver on the given assignment while assuring the rest of Africa and ANOCA of the federal Government’s commitment to host an international standard games.

“I congratulate all the LOC members on their appointments, knowing full well that you all have been entrusted with a serious national assignment. Your work will require planning, coordination, transparency and teamwork for the desired success to be achieved”.

“I want to assure all our African partners and stakeholders that Abuja 2027 will be safe, well organised and memorable for all our young athletes”.

Chairman of the newly inaugurated LOC Lekan Abari praised the leadership of the NSC led by Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko for the renaissance that is currently going on in Nigerian sports while assuring that his committee will work dedicatedly and transparently to deliver the best ever staged African Youth Games.

Other members of the Committee include: Bar Musa Amadu (Deputy Chairman), Sagaya Abdulmumeen (Secretary), Dr Ibrahim Abdul, Arc Adamu Tanimu, Olubunmi Ola-Oluode, Dr Lydia Gbagi, and Olufunke Florence
Olu-young, Dr Oba Funsho Usman, Chief Victor Onogagamue and Farouk Yarma.

Others are Chichi Nwoko, Ebidowei Oweife, Chief Amaka Ashiofu, Olalekan Alabi, Tunde Adeluola, Jude Ayandofu, Lanre Ogunjobi, Aisha Shuaibu, Kola Daniel, Dr Ibrahim Gyaran, Femi Ayorinde, Dr Rabiu Mohammed, Yusuf Adamu, Jahnedu Ibekwelu, Gbadebo Oyebola and Barr. Friday Agbom.
