Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has commended the people of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area for their massive support for the PDP and its candidates in the recently concluded Edo State House of Assembly elections.
The Governor gave the commendation through his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu during a thank you visit traditional rulers in the area for voting for the PDP, resulting in its victory in the two constituencies of Akoko-Edo.
Governor Obaseki promised to always provide the dividends of democracy to the people of the State, while affirming that Akoko-Edo will benefit from the various developmental projects of the present administration.
Responding on behalf of other traditional rulers, the Imah of Somorika, Oba Sule Idiaye, appreciated Edo State Government for the thank-you visit to the area while affirming total support for the State Government at all times.
Shaibu, in his capacity as Deputy Governor, promised the traditional rulers that he would come back for a proper victory celebration with the PDP family in the local government.
He also promised to dazzle the people of Akoko-Edo with his latest scintillating dance steps of ‘pepper them’ and ‘buga’ respectively.
Recall that the candidates of the PDP, Hon. Yekini ldiaye and Hon. Donald Okogbe, emerged victorious in constituencies 1 & 2 at the Edo State House of Assembly elections, which took place on 18th March 2023.
