Governor Ademola Adeleke, His Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, Speaker Osun State House Of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Chief Executive Officer of Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd, Engr. Lanre Adeleke is among the dignitaries expected to grace the final match of the first edition of the Osun Governor’s Cup.
The football Competition for secondary school students across the state will get to its climax on Monday, March 11. Ataoja School Of Science, Osogbo faces Lanre Leke Sports Academy, Ile-Ogbo at the Osogbo City Stadium at 10 am. Also expected to grace the event are Royal Fathers in the State, which include, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji. Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Adewale Akanbi, Olowu of Kuta Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude (Tegbosun III).
Dignitaries For Osun Governor’s Cup
Others include the Olu of Ile-Ogbo, Oba Habeeb Adetoyese Agbajelola. Committee of Sports, Osun House of Assembly, led by the Chairman Hon. Jeremiah Awoyeye, House Committee on Education, led by Hon. Oderinwale Elisha. The Commissioner of Police, All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Public Schools (ANCOPPS), Osun Chapter and many more.
Osun School Sports Governor’s Cup Aspiration
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the School Sports Foundation, Yomi Elijah thanked everyone who has given support to the initiative. He promised that the Competition will get bigger and better in the next edition. “At School Sports Foundation are grateful to the Osun State Government, the Sponsor, Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd. The Ministry of Education, Sports and everyone who made this year’s edition a huge success.
“We hope to have a bigger competition next year, this year’s event has been a success so far. Possibly we can have more schools taking part and more games and more innovations,” He concluded. Also speaking on the final, CEO of Olafiranye Sports Foundation, Alhaji Olayiwola Olafiranye assured football lovers of good game. Ataoja School Of Science and Lanreleke Sports Academy are ready to thrill them with good football. He commended all the various teams for their discipline throughout the tournament.
“We are optimistic that we are going to have a wonderful final game. Everyone has been impressed with the level of talent discovered so far. We really hope to harness these talents and make their dreams a reality.
The final game on Monday is scheduled to kick off at 10am in the morning at the Osogbo City Stadium.
