Paul Obata, Junior Osaghae joins Tanzanian side, Dodoma Jiji FC

The player exodus at Bendel Insurance continues as Paul Obata and Junior Osaghae has been unveiled by Tanzanian Premier League outfit, Dodoma Jiji FC, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.

The attacking duo leaves the Benin Arsenal after joining the team just last season. Paul Obata joined Bendel Insurance from Gombe United while Junior Osaghae rejoined after a brief spell with Rivers United.

Both players joins the Tanzanian team on a two year contract and were unveiled on Tuesday via the club’s Instagram page.


Paul Obata playing from the wing recorded three assists in 19 appearances (17 starts). Junior Osaghae finished the just concluded season as the second highest goalscorer with five goals and one assist from 18 appearances (11 starts)

Both players join the list of players who have officially left the team. Evans Ogbonda (Enugu Rangers), Sarki Ismael (training with Enyinmba) and Sunday Anyanwu (Östersunds FK).

Bendel Insurance playing the Gov. Douye Diri preseason Cup has recruited players still under trial to replace the players who have left the team.

Dodoma Jiji achieved promotion to the Tanzanian Premier League in 2021.The club finished 12th in the just concluded season and they hope to strengthen their attack with the addition of the attackers. The club also added Emotan Cletus, a Nigerian centre midfielder to their ranks. The midfielder previously played for Akwa United, Rivers United and Sunshine Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
