Two distinguished members of Platinum News, Sharon Ekhiwere and Ayoola Adeleke, have been inaugurated as board members of the Edo Kickboxing Association and Edo Mixed Martial Arts Association, respectively.
The inauguration which took place on Wednesday, February 5 at the Indoor Hall of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium saw 37 chairmen sworn in to head 37 associations. This is part of the Edo State Sports Commission’s effort to strengthen the administration of various sports in the state.
Sharon Ekhiwere, a media professional, returns to the Edo Kickboxing Association as a board member. His vast experience in sports media sees him return not just as a media head but board member of the Kickboxing Association.
He is expected to bring a new level of visibility and strategic development to kickboxing in the state.
Similarly, Ayoola Adeleke, a respected journalist, takes up a key role within the Edo Mixed Martial Arts Association, aiming to enhance the growth and promotion of MMA in Edo State.
Both individuals appointment comes as a result of the increasing recognition of the media’s role in sports administration. With their expertise in journalism, broadcasting, and digital content creation, they are expected to provide fresh insights and innovative ideas that will shape the future of kickboxing and mixed martial arts in Edo.
