Red-hot Nigerian striker scores again to earn Granada a win

Red-hot Granada striker, Eghosa Bello has once again registered his name on the scoring sheet to earn his team a hard-fought 3-2 win over Calavera on Sunday.

The game started brightly for the home side, Granada who created loads of chances to get the lead in the early kick-off minutes, but all efforts went abortive.

Ten minutes into the game, the away side got a goal after a defensive error from Granada’s centre-back and goalkeeper, Alberto Martinez Garzon.

Eghosa soon rescued his team when he zoomed with the ball through the left side of his attack and took on the left back to drive into the box – the defender brought him down and the centre referee wasted no time to point to the penalty spot.

The 18-year-old dusted himself and converted for his team to put them back on level with their opponents.

The former Rolly FC of Benin striker’s striking partner, Adrian Osuna send his team ahead with the last kick of the first half with a beautiful header as the team went into the dugout as a leader.

The second half restarted the away team and got back with an equalizer to further dent the winning ambition of Granada. 75 minutes down the clock, Granada presented another opportunity to take the lead when a Calavera defender committed a foul in the box. The team captain stepped up and converted to send his team ahead once again.

The 6 feet+ was going to add to his goal when he had a glorious chance in the 88th minute, but for a very rough defence line that had their two centres back substituted in the second half after picking yellow cards in the first, Eghosa was harshly brought down leading to him dislocating his shoulder. The game ended and Granada secured the all-important three points to move to 8th position on the Division Honor Juvenile league log.

Granada next faces Malaga CF on Sunday and would be hopeful Eghosa can pull recover on time to take part when they face the 4th-placed team.
