…commends Speaker of 7th Assembly for purposeful leadership

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu has charged members of the 8th Edo State House of Assembly to put their constituents first in their legislative assignments.

The Deputy Governor gave the admonition at a Praise and Thanksgiving Night, organized by the leadership of the 7th Edo State House of Assembly, to mark the successful completion of its legislative tenure.

According to Shaibu, the work of a man lives after leaving office, while recalling his contributions to the development of Edo State as a former two-time member of the House.

He congratulated members of the 7th Assembly for their contributions to the development of Edo State.

The Deputy Governor particularly called on the immediate past Speaker of the 7th Edo Assembly, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun who is now a member of the House of Representatives, Abuja to advance the business of legislation and wished him well in his future endeavours.

In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun appreciated Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu, for the smooth working relationship the house enjoyed during his tenure.

The Vice Chairman, South-South, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Dr. Nosa Igbinijesu and Chief Imam of Benin Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdulfatah Enabulele, admonished Onobun and other Nigerians to always put God first in all they do, to achieve success.

In a related development, Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, this Friday graced the formal inauguration of the 8th Edo State House of Assembly.

A one-time member of the house, representing Owan West Constituency, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, was unanimously elected Speaker while Maria Edeko Esq was elected the Deputy Speaker.
