…Commends Pastor Chris Oyakhilome for turnaround of mill

Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Thursday paid a working visit to inspect the newly revamped Prime Feed and Flour Mill, Ewu in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State.

Shaibu who commended the new owner and investor of the mill, Rev. Chris Oyakhilome, President, Love World Ministry, a.k.a Christ Embassy, noted that the acquisition and resuscitation of the former state-owned Bendel Feed and Flour Mill have brought agricultural expansion and development to Esan people and Edo State in general.

According to him: “I have gone round the facilities and I have seen a lot of expansion that has taken place. Some obsolete machines have been refabricated and I’m very impressed. There are also new plants waiting for installation. These machines are capable of producing 25 tonnes per hour. This goes to show that when you inject new equipment into facilities like this, you inject new life and the multiplier effect is always huge”.

“These products are environment friendly. I encourage farmers in this area to take full advantage of these products to boost their agricultural production”.

“As a Government, we will continue to create an enabling environment for private investments and partnerships”.

“I sincerely commend Rev. Chris Oyakhilomhe, who took over this facility in 2015 and revived it for the benefit of the Edo people. May God continue to strengthen him as we have enjoyed his spiritual benefits. We are also happy to benefit from this physical investment”, Shaibu added.

In his remarks on behalf of the management team, the Managing Director, of Prime Feed and Flour Mill, Pastor Henry Amekhena, said “The Prime Feed and Flour Mill products have been fully certified by NAFDAC.

“We are currently producing nineteen products. When we’re done with the installation of the new plants, which is ongoing, we will begin the production of semovita and other consumables”.

“The resuscitation of this plant was done by Nigerian engineers, not foreign engineers and it is working fine. We currently run the plants with few workers, but we will recruit more workers when we’re finally done with the complete installation of the new plants”, Pastor Henry added.

Recall that Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, had promised in 2020 during his electioneering campaign, to liaise with the new investors, Prime Feed and Flour Mill Limited, to fastrack the resuscitation of the mill which has been moribund for some years.

The mill, formerly known as Bendel Feed and Flour Mill, was privatised when Edo and Delta States were created from the defunct Bendel State.
