Super Eagles and OGC Nice striker, Terem Moffi continued his fine goal-scoring form as he netted one and assist another to earn his team an important away draw at Nantes in the French Lique 1 on Sunday evening.

Moffi opened the scoring for his side in the fourth minute of the game after heading home from a close range from Ross Barkley’s corner kick to keep the Stade de la Beaujoire fans quiet on their home ground.

The home team levelled up at the half-hour mark after former Newcastle United midfielder, Moussa Sissoko lifted himself well to head home the leveller after connecting with French midfielder, Ludovic Blas’ cross, to throw up the home fans into celebration.

The home team had the chance to go in front four minutes later, but the glorious penalty presented to them from Dante’s reckless foul was blasted away by the equalizer provider, Ludovic Blass.

Nice kept the pressure on their hosts and could have gone ahead again in the first half, but Nantes held their own against their geared-up visitors.

Both sides continued hunting for a goal in the second half but all efforts proved abortive despite tactical changes made by their coaches.

With twenty minutes left to play, Terem Moffi tried a goal attempt, but Nantes’s goalkeeper, Alban Lafont had it under control. Seconds after, another ball fell into the path of Moffi and this time, the 23-year-old found Burundi’s central bank, Youssouf Ndayishimiye who wasted no time to hit the target with his right foot.

Just when Nice thought they were coasting home with a victory, Egyptian striker, Mostafa Mohamed successfully connected with Brazilian centre back, Joao Victor’s cross from the right flank and levelled up for his team with just three minutes to end regulation time.

Moffi, a loanee from Lorient has now scored fifteen goals and two assists in the french Ligue 1 this season to sit 6th in the gaol scorers table, four behind leading scorer, l Jonathan David of Lille and Kylian Mbappe of PSG who both have 19 goals to their names.

Meanwhile, Moses Simon was in the 65th minute subbed off for eventual goal scorer, Mostafa Mohamed.

With the result, OGC Nice sits 7th on the log with 43 points from 27 games.
