…admonishes Christians to thank God always
Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu, Sunday urged Christians to always give thanks to God for sparing their lives, no matter the circumstances, bearing in mind that all they have and who they are was made possible by God.
Shaibu gave the admonition at the 2023 harvest thanksgiving mass of St. Philip-Neri Catholic Church, Jattu-Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to the Deputy Governor who attended the mass with his wife, Comrade Maryann Philip-Shaibu and political aides, “It is very important that we give thanks to God for sparing our lives and more importantly, for the gift of life he has given to us. It is always very important to thank him because it is not by our power or might have seen 2023″.
“Everywhere I go, I always want to give thanks to God, but this one is special to me because this is my country home. It is always very important to me that I thank God in my country home with my people and family at Saint Philip-Neri Catholic Church, Jattu-Uzairue”.
“Today, I am thanking God for life, for His protection and blessings without any disaster. while we pray that God help solve the issue of our economy, no thanksgiving is too much for God, because when you thank Him, you set another agenda for yourself and for God to help you accomplish your desires”.
Gratitude to God attracts more blessings”, Shaibu added.
Earlier in his homily, Rev Fr Martins Alokwe emphasized that Christians must give in humility, cheerfully and willingly in righteousness and honourably.
The service featured special prayers, thanksgiving and bazaar, among other activities.
