The Nigeria Medical Association and Dominion All Stars are now through to the quarter finals of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital Chief Medical Director Inter Professional Tournament, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
With the full support of UBTH’s CMD, Professor Darlington Obaseki led NMA into the knockout stages on Tuesday, December 19, following a commanding 2-0 win over late entrants, Physiotherapy.
Dominion claimed the second qualification spot by triumphing over Coaches in a fiercely contested match, with a total of seven goals scored on Wednesday evening. Dominion however dominated the game scoring four of the seven goals.
This outcome from the matches means NMA and Dominion has advanced into the knockout stages as the top two qualifiers from Group C. Unfortunately, Physiotherapists and Coaches, finishing in third and fourth place, respectively, have been eliminated from the CMD Cup.
Although, Dominion and Coaches finished level on the same point (6) and goal difference (1), Dominion progresses as they scored more (7) compared to Coaches who scored (5).
