WAFU-B U20: Flying Eagles Fall to Burkina Faso

Nigeria’s U20 boys, the Flying Eagles, began their campaign at the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo with a 0-1 defeat to Burkina Faso on Friday evening, Kennedy Ugbodaga is reporting for platinumnewsng.com.

Despite holding their opponents to a goalless draw in the first half, the Flying Eagles conceded in the 66th minute, allowing Burkina Faso to secure all three points.

With the win, Burkina Faso now leads Group B, which features three teams. Cote d’Ivoire had a bye in the opening round of matches.

The Flying Eagles will now look to regroup as they face Ivory Coast in their next fixture. A victory is important to keep their hopes alive as they aim to defend the title they clinched two years ago in Niger Republic.
