Water FC CEO, Makanjuola Nureni (popularly known as MK), paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) President, Alhaji Habu Gumel, at his Abuja office.
The visit followed MK’s recent recognition as one of Nigeria’s 100 Most Influential Individuals at the 2025 Progressive Awards. During the meeting, MK applauded Gumel’s outstanding leadership within the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and prayed for continued strength in his service to Nigerian sports.
In response, Gumel praised MK’s dedication to youth development through football and urged him to stay committed to nurturing grassroots talent.
MK, whose passion for football evolved into a national mission, has transformed Water FC into a premier youth football hub, equipped with modern facilities and a strong talent pipeline. The club has produced players who have featured in the U-17 and U-20 World Cups for Nigeria.
Gumel, a seasoned sports administrator and honorary IOC member, continues to be a key figure in advancing Olympic sports in Nigeria.
Their meeting signals a shared commitment to boosting grassroots sports, talent development, and international representation.
