World Athletics Championships: Amusan Qualifies For The 100m Hurdles Final

Tobi Amusan has made it through to the final of the women’s 100m hurdles at the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Budapest, Hungary.

The Nigerian-born World Record holder triumphed in the Heat 2 of Wednesday’s semi-final with a time of 12.56 seconds, as she overturned Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent’s early lead to pull through to her third consecutive World Athletics Championship final slated for Thursday, August 24, 2023.

The Jamaican who is the reigning NCAA Champion, however, finished second with 12.60 seconds, meanwhile, in the first semi-final race, the former American world record holder, Kendra Harrison clocked 12.33 seconds to claim first place, as Nia Ali fell through with 12.49 seconds to Puerto Rico’s Jasmine Camacho-Quinn’s 12.41 seconds in Heat 3.
