…Shaibu commends the group for its gesture
A non – governmental organization, Zion Ladies, has donated a 60-seater Macopolo luxury bus to Edo State Government as part of its social corporate responsibility for the conveyance of the less-privileged school children and other government activities.
The donation was made by the women’s group led by its President, Amb. Esther Edokpai when the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu received them in the audience at the Government House, Benin City.
The group appreciated the Deputy Governor for his immense contribution to societal development, especially in the entertainment industry and the less privileged.
Receiving the bus on behalf of the Edo State Government, the Deputy Governor, apologised for not being in attendance during the group’s launch to support the less privileged.
“I appreciate your philanthropic gesture towards the women and less-privileged in society”.
“Hundreds of you, worldwide coming together to give back to society is a culture that other organisations should emulate. It is not everyone that God blesses with financial resources. Whatever way God blesses an individual, he must learn to give back to the society”.
“What we give back is always a reflection of who we are. I pray God sustains this your given spirit bountifully. We can only use you as role models to others”.
“For the entertainers, I tried to break through them to impact in them the courage to explore the entertainment industry. We’re building a culture where individuals can nurture and grow their God-given talents”, Shaibu added.
Earlier, the President of the Zion Ladies, Amb. Esther Edokpai said: “Zion Ladies is a charitable organization whose vision and mission are to empower the less-privileged in society”.
“We have seen what you have been doing to help the poor, the less- privileged and the entertainment industry. We’re here to support you with a 60-seater Macopolo bus to help you in some of your programs and to use it in conveying children to school when the need arises”, she added.
