The Nigeria National League (NNL) has announced a ban on teams streaming matches independently during the 2024 Super Eight playoff, platinumnewsng.com is reporting.
With the competition set to hold from June 7–14, in Enugu, the directive ensures that all streaming of the Super 8 playoff matches will be centralized through the NNL’s official channels.
In a letter addressed to the clubs and signed by Ayo Abdulrahman, Chief Operating Officer of the league, it was revealed that the NNL has entered into a partnership with a media company, Sportslight, to stream all playoff matches.
The letter dated May 22, 2024 states: “As we all gear up in our preparations towards the event, the League body writes to officially intimate you that it has gone into partnership with a media/communication company, Sportslight, that has agreed with the league to stream all the matches of the playoff.
“Therefore, you are to key into the league’s arrangement as no club shall be allowed to stream independently.
“Please connect to the league’s Facebook page, Nigeria National League, where links to all the matches of the competition shall be posted.”
Eight teams are set to compete in the playoff in Enugu: Ikorodu City, Inter Lagos, Madiba FC, Beyond Limits FC, Sokoto United, Nasarawa United, Sporting Supreme, and El-Kanemi Warriors.
