Brighton & Hove Albion Women have announced the signing of Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie. But she’s expected to officially join the club on July 1, once her contract with Paris FC ends.
Head coach Dario Vidosic expressed his excitement about the move:
“We’re thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club. She’s a talented goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line. She has competed at the highest level, with valuable experience in a variety of cup competitions, including the Champions League. We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for the next season.”
After moving from the Nigerian side Rivers Angels in 2020, the 24-year-old Nnadozie joined Paris FC. She made 118 appearances for the French club, and her standout moment came in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final, where she saved two penalties against PSG to help Paris FC lift the trophy.
Her performances didn’t go unnoticed. In 2024, she was named Goalkeeper of the Season in both the D1 Arkema league and by UNFP, becoming the first African player to earn those honours.
Before her move to Europe, Chiamaka was a key part of the dominant Rivers Angels side that won the Nigerian Women’s Premier League in 2019 and three domestic cups. That same year, she was named Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper by the IFFHS.
On the international scene, she’s been wearing the Nigerian colours since her teenage years. After starring at the U-17 and U-20 levels, she made her senior debut in 2018 against France. Since then, she’s earned over 50 caps and played in major tournaments around the world.
Chiamaka Nnadozie reacting to her move said:
“I am excited to join Brighton and begin this new chapter. I want to help the team achieve great things. “
However, Nnadozie’s focus is to help the Super Falcons of Nigeria secure their 10th WAFCON title
