The excitement around the Edo Cricket League (ECL) Men’s T20 is rising as the League Trophy will embark on a special Trophy Tour on Wednesday, 26th November 2025, across Schools in Benin City.
The initiative aims to deepen grassroots engagement and inspire young Cricketers across Benin City.
According to the Edo Cricket League Committee Secretary, Coach Theophilus Ibodeme, speaking on behalf of the Chairman of the Committee, Barrister Abraham Oviawe, the Trophy Tour will bring the League’s top prize directly to Students who follow the competition and those being groomed as future stars.
Schools lined up for the visit include Eweka Secondary School, Benin Technical College, Iyoba College, Evbareke Secondary School, Idia College, Emotan College, Ohonre Grammar School, and Edo Boys High School.
At each stop, Students will interact with League Officials, take photographs with the Trophy, and learn more about the 2025 Season.
Coaches and other Cricket Officials in the State will also use the opportunity to promote Cricket fundamentals and encourage more participation in youth programmes.
This Year’s League has delivered exciting performances, with teams battling fiercely for top spots on the Table.
Invictus Cricket Club and No-Limit Cricket Club currently lead the standings, chasing the highly coveted title, highlighting the competitive nature of the Season.
The Trophy Tour, arriving just days before the Season Finale, is expected to boost excitement among Fans and Players.
The League Committee says the initiative aligns with their vision of merging competitive cricket with educational outreach.
They hope the Tour will inspire ambition, discipline, and sportsmanship in Students across all visited Schools.
The Grand Finale of the Edo Cricket League (ECL) Men’s T20 comes up on Sunday, 30th November 2025, with top contenders set to battle for the coveted title.
