Ikorodu City FC has confirmed the transfer of their talented winger, Shola Adelani, who has completed a 2-year permanent move to Bulgarian top-flight side Botev Plovdiv. The club made the announcement on their official X page at 3:44pm on Friday, November 28, 2025, accompanied by a 50-second highlight video showcasing the teenager’s goals and celebrations.

Shola, has been one of Ikorodu City’s brightest prospects, featuring as a dynamic right winger and earning a place in the Nigerian Super Eagles Team B. He scored 13 NPFL goals for Ikorodu City before sealing his move abroad.
His new club, Botev Plovdiv, is a respected Bulgarian side competing in the Parva Liga, the country’s top division. Founded in 1912, they are known for their strong fan base and long-standing football tradition.
For Shola, the transfer marks an important step in his development as he begins his first spell in European football. Ikorodu City fans have expressed pride in the youngster’s progress and wished him success in Bulgaria.
